Great beginnings in response to a consumer need The original Hiddenbed idea was developed in 2003 by Juan Carlos Monestier, a mechanical engineer from Uruguay who was looking for a space saving solution. His unique concealed bed idea was simple, and it's sturdy lever mechanism was quickly granted worldwide patents. By 2006 the company was marketing itself under the name "StudyBed".
