Great beginnings in response to a consumer need

The original Hiddenbed idea was developed in 2003 by Juan Carlos Monestier, a mechanical engineer from Uruguay who was looking for a space saving solution.

His unique concealed bed idea was simple, and it's sturdy lever mechanism was quickly granted worldwide patents. By 2006 the company was marketing itself under the name "StudyBed".

Quickly and successfully established in international markets

Hiddenbed entered the USA market in 2007 in partnership with the "More Space Place" - a nationwide retail network offering a full range of space-saving furniture ideas. The product was featured on the Oprah Winfrey show and enjoyed great success. As well as the consumer market it was also embraced by commercial markets such as University residences.

And the success continues in Australia

Hiddenbed Australia has also achieved some notable milestones:

•JULY/AUGUST 2010 - A "soft launch' into the Australian market included being shown at the Herald Sun Home Show.

•JULY 2011 - Hiddenbed Australia featured at the Furnitex Trade Show in Melbourne, and recieved the FB Magazine Gold Award, for Design, Innovation and Marketability.

•Hiddenbed was 'The Winning Room' when it featured in episode two of Channel 9's 'Top Design' show.

Hiddenbed is now becoming established as a market leader with its revolutionary Bed and Desk system. Within the full range, there are practical and innovative solutions to fit houses, flats, apartment, holiday homes... or any living space that simply needs 'that extra little bit of space'.

Hiddenbed has showrooms in Sydney and Melbourne and planned expansion to other capital cities plus a retail distribution network.

Hiddenbed is established with a strong presence in New Zealand, and has experienced early success with consumer promotions in various Home Shows. There is a year-round presence in seven showrooms across the country plus a large display in the Auckland Home Ideas Centre.
